Mango Habanero Pepper Description
At one point, the habanero (100,000 to 350,000 Scoville Heat Units or SHU) held the crown as the world’s hottest chili pepper, but don’t let the fact that certain chilies have passed it by fool you into underestimating it. This is a seriously hot pepper. And unlike many of the hotter chilies, there’s quite a bit of flavor to go along with the extra-hot kick.
The common orange habanero pepper has a tropical, fruity flavor that make these peppers very popular among chefs, both amateur and professional. And underneath the sweetness, there’s a subtle smokiness as well. There’s a lot to love in the flavor, and it pairs well with many fruits. Tropical fruits like pineapple and mango are obvious good pairings, but apple and orange work equally as well. Because of its flavor, the habanero often stars as the primary heat source for fruit-based hot sauces. If you can handle the heat, this is a fun culinary chili to play with in the kitchen.
Just one pepper has over 100% of your recommended daily Vitamin C intake with only 18 calories and zero grams of fat. Habaneros also have a high concentration of Potassium for their size. The only problem is eating enough of them. Even though you won’t get your total recommended Potassium intake with just a few peppers, it still makes a healthy addition to any meal.
Habaneros contain a high concentration of capsaicin: the chemical compound that makes peppers spicy. This miracle chemical is a phytonutrient that shows great promise to prevent and treat many diseases. Capsaicin is a natural anti-inflammatory.
There are main health benefits of eating habanero pepper. Those are:
1. Anti-Inflammatory
2. Weight Loss
3. Prevents Diabetes
4. Prevents Cardiovascular Disease
5. Anti-Cancer
6. Pain Relief
7. Respiratory Treatment

This is my favorite of all the sauces. I’m not really a true “hotty” but I love the flavor of this one so much. It’s absolutely delicious! It has a perfect blend of heat and sweet!
