The Legend of the Habanero
At one point, the habanero (100,000 to 350,000 Scoville Heat Units or SHU) held the crown as the world’s hottest chili pepper, but don’t let the fact that certain chilies have passed it by fool you into underestimating it. This is a seriously hot pepper. And unlike many of the hotter chilies, there’s quite a bit of flavor to go along with the extra-hot kick.
Flavor Profile & Culinary Uses
The common orange habanero pepper has a tropical, fruity flavor that makes these peppers very popular among chefs, both amateur and professional. And underneath the sweetness, there’s a subtle smokiness as well. There’s a lot to love in the flavor, and it pairs well with many fruits. Tropical fruits like pineapple and mango are obvious good pairings, but apple and orange work equally as well. Because of its flavor, the habanero often stars as the primary heat source for fruit-based hot sauces. If you can handle the heat, this is a fun culinary chili to play with in the kitchen.
Our Mango Habanero hot sauce celebrates this legendary pepper by complementing its natural heat with the sweetness of ripe mango, creating a perfectly balanced sauce that enhances any dish without overwhelming it.

This is my favorite of all the sauces. I’m not really a true “hotty” but I love the flavor of this one so much. It’s absolutely delicious! It has a perfect blend of heat and sweet!

Good stuff! Hot, but not too hot. Tasty.

THis stuff is the absolute best. I am sad because I moved to Gainesville and I miss this hot sauce everytime I am eating something that needs some spice. My only thing is I wish the shipping was cheaper (maybe $5) because thinking generally spending $22 for 1 bottle of hot sauce to be shipped is tough to justify..even though this hot sauce does.

i tried the mango habanero sauce with chicken, fish and even as a dip for fries and it surprised me every time. the sweet mango hits first, then the habanero brings a warm kick that makes you want just one more bite. it’s the perfect mix of fruity and spicy.
