The Sauce

Our hottest. Flavor still leads.

Respect the King. The Carolina Reaper was the official Guinness World Record holder for the hottest pepper on Earth until 2026 and the heart of Carlos’ Consuming Fire Hot Sauce. Experience the legendary hybrid pepper that started it all in an artisan sauce that balances world-record intensity with a surprisingly deep, savory flavor.

Where Extreme Heat Meets Master Craftsmanship

The Carolina Reaper hot sauce is the pinnacle of the chili world. Developed as a hybrid pepper, it averages over 1,641,183 Scoville Heat Units (SHU) and peaks at a staggering 2.6 million SHU. At Carlos’ Consuming Fire Hot Sauce, we’ve mastered the art of bottling this “nuclear” fire, ensuring every drop delivers the pure, unadulterated heat of one of the world’s most powerful pepper (175 to 880 times hotter than a jalapeño).

Why Our Reaper Sauce Stands Out

  • Pure Intensity: We use premium Carolina Reaper peppers to deliver a consistent, formidable heat profile without the use of artificial extracts.
  • Complex Flavor Profile: While the heat is immediate, the Reaper is known for its sweet, fruity undertones and savory notes of garlic and onion before the intense burn takes over.
  • Small-Batch Integrity: Handcrafted in Clearwater, Florida, our sauce contains no fillers, just the raw, natural power of the world’s most famous pepper.
  • Artisan Standards: Every bottle preserves the natural oils and potency of the pepper, making this more than just a “challenge” sauce, it's a sophisticated culinary tool.

      About the peppers

      The Carolina Reaper, decoded

Heat threshold and sensitivity varies from person to person. A Scoville is a unit of measurement named for Wilbur Scoville, inventor of the test that measures peppers' heat. A mild chile, such as an Anaheim, is around 500 units, while fierce chiles can clock in around 500,000 units. The Carolina Reaper clocks in at a staggering 2.2 million SHUs—making it 175 to 880 times hotter than a jalapeño.

I love (very) hot sauce and received a bottle of Carolina Reaper as a Christmas present. I had a little on pizza for lunch and think this hot sauce is excellent. It tastes excellent and is very hot. No artificial heat, just peppers. I will rate it as one of the best I have had and plan to buy more when this bottle is empty.
